Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan disagreed with Pep Guardiola’s belief that everyone in England, including the media, supports Liverpool.

Jordan informed Guardiola that rather, everyone was supporting Manchester City to reach the Champions League final.

After Manchester City thrashed Newcastle 5-0 on Sunday, Guardiola had suggested there is a bias towards Liverpool.

Man City have now positioned themselves to claim the Premier League title again, holding a three-point lead with three games to go.

That means Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been denied a historic quadruple.

Speaking on beIN SPORTS, the Spaniard said: “One week ago, we were in front, (but) everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone.”

But Jordan disagreed with him, saying, “It’s not true. There might well be people who support Liverpool and there might well be people who like Liverpool’s brand of play more than Man City’s.

“But everybody was willing Man City to win that Champions League semi-final, everybody wanted to see an all-English final.

“The only way I can see an argument is that people want to see a quadruple. It’s something unique, it’s not anything against Manchester City.”
