Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy, has named Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola of Manchester City as the best managers in world football.
He said this while tackling Guardiola over the Spaniard’s claim of Liverpool being favoured in England.
Murphy said despite being a former Liverpool star and a diehard fan, he has always spoken highly of Guardiola and his Manchester City team.
Danny Murphy said that his allegiance to the Reds does not affect his punditry job, since he is not allowed to be biased.
Still nursing the pains of Manchester City’s exit to Real Madrid in the Champions League, Guardiola had after his side thrashed Newcastle 5-0 in the Premier League on Sunday, suggested there is a bias towards Liverpool.
Guardiola said that Manchester United and Liverpool are the most important clubs in history as far as English people are concerned, insisting that everyone, including the media, support the Reds.
But Murphy narrates to talkSPORT: “I grew up a Liverpool fan and played for Liverpool, but I’ve eulogised Klopp and Guardiola equally and the quality of football we are seeing.
“That’s my job to do it. They are both wonderful sides who have been marshalled superbly and led superbly but two of the best managers in world football.
“All the pundits I know, even my Liverpool mates, speak about City in glowing terms.
“I work with Micah [Richards] and he speaks about Liverpool in glowing terms because you have to say what you see.”
